Building a Blue-Green Future
Please join us for a discussion on how the United States can create a blue-green future.

Climate change is the greatest threat to the ocean and the communities that rely on its health. Yet the ocean is also a source of sustainable climate solutions. A comprehensive climate strategy will aim to maximize ocean-based mitigation measures—from decarbonizing the shipping sector to protecting and restoring coastal blue carbon ecosystems—to complement the full suite of climate policies necessary for overall decarbonization. It will also aim to maximize adaptation measures that increase the resilience of frontline communities and ecosystems to unavoidable ocean-climate impacts.

The event will feature themes from Ocean Conservancy’s recently released Action Agenda for a Blue-Green Future: U.S. Federal Ocean-Climate Recommendations for 2021.

Speakers will include Representative Kathy Castor, Ocean Conservancy CEO Janis Searles Jones, Green 2.0 Executive Director Andrés Jimenez, and U.N. Foundation Senior Fellow for Climate Change Sue Biniaz.

Please Note: Ocean Conservancy is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization. Ocean Conservancy does not support or endorse any political candidates. This issue-focused event is designed to discuss ocean climate solutions and is being held in compliance with the rules governing 501(c)(3) organizations.
